The Culture of Tea: Shared Experiences, Individual Expressions
Installation artist Mari Omori will lead numerous workshops using the sharing of tea to teach artistic expression and appreciation of common cultural values and perceptions. The works of art produced in these workshops, including writings, fiber arts and film, will reflect individuals' relationships to community, each other and nature. The works will also provide the basis for a multi-media and mixed media exhibit/presentation in the museum's galleries. The artist specializes in bold, textured sculptures, massive room-sized installations and collages made with distinct imprints of tea and quilted paper derived from teabags. |
