The Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens invites you to enjoy a night of classical collaboration performed by two world renowned musicians, violinist Shunsuke Sato and pianist Tao Lin at 4 Strings & 88 Keys: A Night of Music for Violin and Piano.
Born in Tokyo in 1984, Shunsuke Sato began playing the violin at the age of two, immigrating to America with his family two years later. In addition to regular appearances with all major orchestras in Japan, he has worked with leading European orchestras, including the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Bavarian Radio Philharmonic and Hamburg Symphony. Since his American debut with the Philadelphia Orchestra at the age of 10, he has gone on to perform with the Baltimore Symphony, National Symphony, Minnesota Orchestra, Seattle Symphony, Rochester Philharmonic and the Syracuse Symphony.
Born into a musical family in Shanghai, China, Tao Lin was admitted to the Shanghai Conservatory at age 8. He was a founding member of the Shanghai Trio, which was a finalist in the First International Chamber Music Competition in Osaka, Japan. He came to South Florida in 1990.
This special performance will mark the second time Sato and Lin have performed at the Morikami and will focus on the works of three 19th century Belgian composers: Cesar Franck, Guillaume Lekeu and Eugene Ysaye.
Following the performance, you are invited to a "Meet & Greet" session with the artists featuring a champagne reception and light hors d'oeuvres.
*Doors open at 7:00 pm and concert begins at 7:30pm*
