Materials Fee: $15 payable to the instructor for Temari Starter Kit. Bring small sewing scissors and a pin cushion.

Temari is the Japanese art of embroidering the surface of a ball. This workshop will explore the traditional Japanese craft of Temari by familiarizing students with basic elements and technique involved with creating a simple Temari design. The instructor will assist the participants to create at least  one finished piece as well as motivate them to further pursue this beautiful intriguing art form.  Make your own special Temari ball to decorate for the holidays or as a gift to a special person.

Sharon Thieman is a local artist and is a member of the National Organization of Women in Arts, the Japanese Temari Association as well as other local art organizations. She has worked successfully across multiple artistic media.
